Some of you will have read my PDF on fair trade and open-source software. In it, I argue that the values of transparency and broad participation in the open-source community closely parallel the values of fair trade. Dirk Riehle goes on to say that not only is open source a business strategy, it is a business strategy that must inevitably win out over closed source. That means that you (yes, you) will one day use open-source software, if you don't already.
